Details of the Crash
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the collision occurred at approximately 4 a.m. near Tram Road, west of Beaumont. Preliminary findings indicate that a Toyota 4Runner traveling westbound crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with a Chevrolet pickup truck.
The force of the impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles and prompted an immediate emergency response. Despite the rapid arrival of first responders, Steven Skinner sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a Justice of the Peace.
The driver of the Chevrolet pickup, a 33-year-old man from Sour Lake, Texas, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a Beaumont hospital. Officials have not yet provided an update on his condition.
