Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Jimmy was the beloved son of James J. Mahon IV and Colleen (Kerdesky) Mahon. He graduated from Lake-Lehman High School and later attended Wilkes College, before beginning a successful career as an independent contractor. Despite work often taking him away, Jimmy remained deeply connected to his family and treasured every return home to northeastern Pennsylvania.

Jimmy built a respected career in stage and production work across Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New Jersey. Outside of travel, he enjoyed disc golf, history, and family traditions, often visiting Jim Thorpe to connect with his coal-mining heritage.

Jimmy’s greatest joy came from family, especially his role as “Uncle Jimmy” to nieces and nephews Samuel, Maia, Isla, Chloe, and Sawyer. He is survived by his parents, sisters Colleen Moyer (Stephen) and Joscelyn Summa (Scott), grandmother Anna Magill, grandfather Peter Kerdesky, beloved nieces and nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by grandparents James J. Mahon III and Joyce Ann Kerdesky.
