Lykes, 36, who died following a three-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer in the Swansea area of Lexington County on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Details of the Collision
According to officials, the crash occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of W.E. Jeffcoat Road and Highway 6. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher reported that Donerell was traveling northbound on W.E. Jeffcoat Road when his vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by an eastbound tractor-trailer.
Authorities stated that the impact caused Donerell to be ejected from his vehicle, after which he was struck by another vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 6. Officials noted that the driver of that third vehicle left the scene before emergency responders arrived.
Despite the prompt arrival of emergency personnel, Donerell succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol’s Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) in conjunction with the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
