An Idaho mother who allegedly claimed her twins died after receiving vaccines has been charged with murder in their deaths, officials announced last week.

Andrea Shaw, 23, formerly of Payette, Idaho, was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her 18-month-old twins, who were found dead in a shared bed on May 1, 2025. She was arrested in Boise on June 30, following an investigation that lasted more than a year.

Allegations and Indictment
According to the indictment, Shaw is accused of suffocating her children. She is currently being held on a $2 million bond. Her next court appearance in Payette County District Court is scheduled for July 14 at 1:30 p.m.

Authorities have not publicly released further details about the investigation, stating that future information will come only through the judicial process.

Public Claims About Vaccines
Days after the twins’ deaths, Shaw appeared on a podcast produced by Children’s Health Defense, where she claimed vaccines were responsible. She said investigators told her the deaths were not medical-related and suggested asphyxiation.

Shaw’s family also launched a GiveSendGo fundraiser, raising more than $10,000, while alleging the twins died after receiving routine vaccines at their 18-month well-baby visit.

Attorney’s Position
Shaw’s private attorney, Joseph Filicetti, told Boise station KTVB that he believes the twins died from vaccinations, despite the indictment alleging suffocation. “They were looking at it as a vaccine death, and that’s still what I believe it to be,” Filicetti said.

Shaw also filed a civil lawsuit against the American Academy of Pediatrics, in collaboration with Children’s Health Defense, claiming no alternative cause of death has been identified.

Ongoing Judicial Process
The Ada County Jail confirmed Shaw’s detention. Officials emphasized that the case will proceed through the judicial system, with evidence and testimony presented in court.

The public statement from police did not mention vaccines, suffocation, or any specific cause of death, underscoring that official findings will be determined through trial.
