SHREVEPORT, Louisiana — The community is mourning the tragic loss of Inez Pryor, who died following an electric bicycle crash on Wednesday morning, July 8, 2026. The collision also left another rider critically injured, according to the Shreveport Police Department.

Details of the Crash

The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Alabama Avenue and Lillian Street, where officers responded to reports of a serious traffic collision involving an electric bicycle and a white 2004 Chevrolet Express van.

When authorities arrived, they found the damaged bicycle and two riders suffering from severe injuries. Emergency crews with the Shreveport Fire Department provided medical assistance and transported both victims to Ochsner LSU Health.

Despite lifesaving efforts, Inez Pryor later succumbed to her injuries. The male rider, who was operating the bicycle, remains hospitalized in critical condition. The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office took custody of Pryor’s remains.

Preliminary findings from the Crash Investigation Unit indicate that the Chevrolet Express van had stopped at a posted stop sign before entering the intersection, where it was struck near the driver’s-side rear tire by the southbound electric bicycle.
