Steven J. Collins Obituary, Cause of Death – Bayport Community Mourns
BAYPORT, Minnesota — The community is mourning the loss of Steven J. Collins (Bond), who passed away in the early morning of May 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with FTD (Frontotemporal Dementia), a disease for which there is no cure. He was 57 years old.
A Life of Family and Love
Born on November 25, 1968, in Albany, N.Y., Steven was the son of Sandra (Sanchez) Collins and Richard Bond (deceased). He later moved to South Jersey, where he met the love of his life, Tanya (Engesser) Collins. They married in January 1995 and shared 31 years together.
Steven is survived by Tanya; their son, Kenneth Collins-Henry; three stepsons, Shain Henry, Jeremy (Olga) Henry, and John Mark’s; his mother, Sandra; granddaughters Liza and Maia; brothers Richard Bond, Scott (Amiee) Collins, and John (Michelle) Collins; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was especially close to his cousin Danny Sanchez, who was more like a brother.
He was predeceased by his loving stepfather, Bob Collins Sr., and grandparents Dan and Mary Sanchez.
Personal Passions
Steven was a self-taught taxidermist and enjoyed outdoor sports, especially white-tail deer hunting. His love for nature and craftsmanship reflected his dedication and creativity.
Celebration of Life
A Celebration of Life will be held today at The Melvin Roads American Legion in East Greenbush, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
