Details of the Incident
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, along Highway 107 near Jackson Bridge Road in the South Central community near Jonesborough. Authorities reported that Sauer was riding his motorcycle when a vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and struck him head-on.
The impact ejected him from his motorcycle. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
